MADI at the forum "Army-2021"

On August 22-28 the 7th International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021" took place in the Patriot Exhibition and Convention Center, in wich our university took an active part.

As part of the business program a round table discussion entitled "Prospects for the development and use of air, ground and sea based military robotic systems" organized by a partner of the university - Federal State Institution Military Innovation Technopolis "ERA" - was held on August 24. The head of the department of higher mathematics, Doctor of Engineering, Professor Marina Yashina and Doctor of Engineering, Professor of the department of Theoretical Mechanics Grigory Rosenblat made a report at the round table. The scientists told the guests about the joint development of MADI, Udmurt State University and M.T. Kalashnikov IzhGTU - a flock of underwater robots created based on a prototype fish robot. "They move only due to internal forces with minimal noise and can move freely through seaweed, so such robots can be used to solve complex military tasks," said Marina Viktorovna.

Vyacheslav Prikhodko, professor of the department "Technology of Structural Materials", corresponding member of RAS, president of the Russian branch of the International Society for Engineering Education, also took part in the business program of the Forum. Within the framework of the section devoted to national scientific schools and preparation of personnel reserve for the needs of defense industry of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Mikhaylovich told about the peculiarities of mechanical engineering technologists training.

On August 26 during the Forum first vice-rector Oleg Sudorgin signed a cooperation agreement between MADI and Federal State Autonomous Institution "Military Innovation Technopolis "ERA", which was made based on the results of our specialists work at the exhibition "Innovation Day of the Russian Ministry of Defense" held in Anapa in April of this year. Representatives of Technopolis highly appreciated the scientific potential of the university and declared that they are ready to realize joint projects in different spheres.

Within the framework of cooperation with Technopolis ERA, Victor Klimenko, Director of Center for Automobile and Road Engineering, made a speech at the Army-2021 forum on August 27th. The speech was dedicated to the development of MADI competences in the field of autonomous power supply sources, the goal of which was to present the main competences of the university in the field of electric transport and autonomous power supply sources, which, in turn, are aimed at development of automobile transport infrastructure of our country.

Besides technopolis ERA, another important industrial partner of our university - Chelyabinsk plant SpetsAgregat - demonstrated its developments at the Forum. It should be mentioned that at the end of 2020 MADI together with Spets-Agregat plant became the winner of the contest for implementation of complex projects on creation of high-tech productions within the framework of the RF Government Decree №218 on cooperation of Russian universities and scientific institutions with organizations of real sector of economy. In the course of the project, MADI scientists, together with an industrial partner, are creating new generation airfield machines to reduce runway maintenance time.

At the Forum Maria Karelina, Vice-rector for scientific work and Pavel Pospelov, head of department "Road Surveying and Design" met with Evgeny Subachev, Director General of SpetsAgregat plant, and Vasily Ivanov, his deputy for ground-based aircraft engineering. MADI representatives invited their colleagues to participate in joint projects of the National Technological Initiative and worked through the issues of personnel training and creation of target groups for training at our university. In addition, during the days of the forum "Army-2021" experts of the university held several meetings with the management of "SpetsAgregat" at the facilities of MADI, including the territory of the training and research center in the Moscow suburbs. The parties discussed the options for using the facilities of the testing ground for road construction equipment.

As part of the exposition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, scientists of the Transport Units Department of MADI presented the MADI-NII PM universal automated high-precision rocket fuel components dispensing complex designed for high-precision refueling directly from transport-fueling containers using the weight dispensing method. "Application of this technology makes it possible to considerably increase accuracy of refueling of rocket boosters and spacecraft tanks, reduce a number of stationary technological equipment, exclude dangerous operations of rocket fuel components transfer from container to container, reduce working time of refueling-pumping station calculations due to exclusion of several operations and ensure environmental friendliness of refueling. The universal automated complex developed at MADI successfully operates at the Vostochny spaceport and the Guiana Space Center in South America," said Sergey Eruslankin, senior lecturer of the Transport Installations Department.

The development of MADI scientists was highly appreciated by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Dmitry Afanasyev.

Also at the stand of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, guests were able to talk to representatives of the Student Scientific Engineering Center, which operates on the basis of MADI. The Center performs development and research works in the field of creation and operation of special purpose vehicles and technological units of ground spatial infrastructure. In addition, SSEC actively cooperates with industrial partners in solving problems of diversification of production of defense-industrial enterprises.
