MADI students and academia at the Congress of the International Federation of Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering

On September 17-19 Moscow Expocenter hosted the 26th International Congress on Metal Science and Heat Treatment, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the outstanding Russian metallurgist Dmitry Konstantinovich Chernov. This annual forum of the International Federation of Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering (IFHTSE) was held in Russia after an almost 30-year hiatus.

The Congress welcomed representatives of some leading industrial enterprises, universities and research institutes from 20 countries: Russia, Austria, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Poland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Sweden, Turkey, USA, Switzerland and India.

Our university was widely represented at the Congress. MADI Professors Petrova, Prikhodko, Chudina, Associate Professors Alexandrov, Demin participated at the Organizational and Program Committees, sections and panels of the forum.

MADI scholars and students presented 16 reports on topical issues of increasing the durability and reliability of machine parts using surface engineering methods, including the use of nano-structuring effects of the surface layer of steels.

Our young participants: graduate students Alexandra Sergeeva, Lotof Keflavi (Lebanon), students Pavel Bringulis, Alexander Sukhov, presented to the international community in English.

The Organising Committee appreciated the effort of MADI technical support group in the development of the Congress website and information materials, as well as our student volunteer group assisting in registration of participants.
