Support for foreign students discussed

 

On August 27, Vice-rector Rustam Mirzaev together with representatives of the university’s International Services took part in the conference held at the Peoples' Friendship University.

The purpose of the online conference was to discuss current problems in organizing the educational process for foreign students in the new academic year. Representatives of the international services of universities discussed the main problems that foreign students face during their stay and studying under current COVID19 restrictions.

The meeting was opened by the President of the Association of Foreign Students of Russia Adu Nikiez. He thanked the Ministry of Education and Science, rectors for their continuing assistance in solving problems that foreign students faced this year, when graduates having completed their education were not able to go home due to flight cancellations, or when students coming to the country to study had to stay in quarantine.

The meeting was moderated by RUDN University President Vladimir Filippov and involved the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Pyotr Kucherenko, representatives of the Main Directorate for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, experts from Rossotrudnichestvo and heads of branches of the Association of Foreign Students in the regions of Russia.
