Science Achievements |
The founder of the Department was D.Eng.Sc., Professor, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.N. Lukanin – the founder of a scientific school in the field of internal combustion engine vibroacoustics and transport ecology. Since 1997, honoured scientist of Russian Federation, D.Eng.Sc., Professor Yu.V. Trofimenko has been heading the Department and developing the scientific school. The following famous scientists worked at the Department: - the leading scientist in the field of transport energetics, D.Eng.Sc., Professor O.A. Stavrov (from the moment of foundation of the Department to the end of life); - director of the Scientific Research Institute of Structure Physics, member of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences G.L. Osipov; - deputy director of the Central Research and Development Automobile and Engine Institute NAMI, the leading scientist in the field of natural gas motor fuel use, C.Eng.Sc., associate professor E.V. Shatrov; - the leading scientist in the field of health and safety, D.Eng.Sc., Professor V.A. Mikhailov; - the great scolar in the field of road ecology, D.Eng.Sc., Professor I.E. Evgenev; - the great scolar in the field of transport vibroacoustics, D.Eng.Sc., Professor V.E. Tolski. The Department’s achievements are in demand in the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Russian Highways State Company (Avtodor), Moscow Government, the lower house of the Russian parliament, industry scientific research institutes, engineering companies. |

In contrast with single-discipline training programs, students of our Department study both road and transport facilities and technologies; engineering methods for providing their ecological, road, industrial, anti-terrorist safety; sustainable development of transport systems; methods of transport safety monitoring, audit, and management. |
