MADI Military Training Centre cadets take part in the memorial rally

On November 15, near the “Explosion” memorial complex in the Moscow region, a rally was held dedicated to the feat of 11 sapper heroes of the 1077 infantry regiment, who perished in the battle of Moscow during the Great Patriotic War.
The event was attended by the Head of the Volokolamsk region Mikhail Sylka, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Engineering Forces Lieutenant General Nikolai Topilin, representatives of the Council of Veterans, students, members of military-patriotic clubs.
MADI student Nikita Popugaev, who is studying at the Military Training Center, told the audience about the exploit of the 11 sappers led by platoon commander Junior Lieutenant Pyotr Firstov (1938 graduate of the MADI Faculty of Road Construction) and junior political instructor Alexei Pavlov, who engaged in unequal battle here on November 18, 1941. At the end of the event the reconstruction of the battle of 1941 was shown.
