Moscow high school students test fuel in MADI

An exciting workshop was held at MADI Fuel and Oil Laboratory for high school students of Moscow schools  № 1223 and 1257. The lesson was conducted by the head of MADI Technical Support Center for Education, head of the laboratory A. Khaziev.

At the class dedicated to gasoline testing, pupils learned to take readings from a hydrometer, introduce a temperature correction to density values, and identify poor-quality gasoline by its appearance. Getting used to the smell of burning fuel, they also learned how to distinguish gasoline for sports cars from that for aircrafts, and independently tested automobile fuel. During the lesson, students showed knowledge of the fundamentals in organic chemistry, environmental science and physics.
